Minimum Courses To Graduate from LIFT
To Graduate from the LIFT Program and receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of year LIFT graduation ceremony, each student must complete the minimum courses and activities listed below. Contact Ms. Nancy Potter if you have any questions. Visit the Student Online Account to get a status on a student's progress toward these minimums.

- Application Training - initial dress and interview skills training
- LIFT Website - How to use the LIFT website and enroll in courses
- Live Mock Interview (Junior/Senior) - Live interview with a professional
- Working with a Recruiter - How to effectively use a recruiter to find the right job
- Resume Writing Tips - Additional information above basic resume writing skills
- Resume Cover Letter and Thank You Cards - How to make the right impression
- Online Job Applications - The new high tech way for employers seek employees but it must be done correctly
- Parliamentary Procedures - Training on how to hold a meeting
- Cell Phone/Internet/Email Etiquette - Learn the proper way to use these social networks
- Table and Social Etiquette - Learn social graces
- Professional Dress - Discussion about the various types of dress and making the right impression
- College 101 - Learn from LIFT graduates the "lessons learned" while attending college or trade school
- Local Business Field Trip - Visit several local businesses, meet the owners, ask questions and learn about business in Pamlico County
- Local Government Field Trip - Visit the local jail, meet county commissioners and other officials, and other county/govt agencies
- Insurance Seminar - Learn about various insurance such as auto and renters and what to do after an accident
- Personal Finance - Discussion about personal finance
- Banking - Students learn about banking services and how to use properly
- Community Service: Students must attend at least one Service Corp at Camp Seafarer or Camp SeaGull (weekend), participate in 2 activities benefitting Pamlico County (ie Toys for Tots), and complete a community service project to be determined.
